To the polls... (again!!) How do we choose when they all seem like numpties?

I wanted to write a quick thing about the vote we are all going to have to once again do on December 12th!
I am way more into politics as I get older.. maybe its my age? maybe its because ultimately I rely on politicians to eat and not die way more than before? Because my kids are closer and closer to being out in the world and I want them to be happy? I actually think its a mixture of all these reasons in addition to the fact that I should be in to them. I see it as like reality TV. Except we all have to live with the end result not just tweet our opinion and then see their faces everywhere for the next year promoting whatever.

I actually have no real die hard opinion on who I should vote for. No offence to Boris, I don't know him he might be very interesting. But he comes across as kind of a turnip in a blue tie and so obsessed with Brexit he probably calls it out in his sleep (or when doing other stuff in bed). He seems a little naive and dangerous to have so much power. Like a well spoken Donald Trump (although to his credit he doesn't look like he's lost an argument with a bottle of fake tan.) I mean I haven't been able to get on board with the Conservatives for a long time. I got really mad when they wanted to bring back fox hunting. Yes it might have been a great tradition of the past, we also used to send children down the mines, shall we bring that back too? I mean I am not a fox nor do I live in the country, so it doesn't really effect me but foxes can't vote against it and to me it kind of showed where the parties priorities lie.
The fact the NHS is suffering under them is a huge worry to me. It should be to all of us. Maybe you aren't a regular now, but tomorrow you could be. As someone who is a regular I can assure you its visibly under more pressure now than it was a couple of years ago. I mean its all well and good giving us the list of where to go corresponding to you symptoms but whenever I have spoken to a pharmacist (not for my asthma, that's beyond any ones remit) I have been advised to go see my GP. I don't think I have ever called 111 for myself or my kids without being sent to a&e or the out of hours doctors. I am frequently sent to hospital by GP's to double check. I find it difficult to believe I am the only one. I mean sure there will be time wasters, or people who wait to long to be seen then have a major issue rather than a minor one. But in general, that's not the issue. The issue is its not being made a priority. It is spoken about as though it is, but it clearly isn't.
After reading a book (I think its called 'Ok this is going to hurt' I can't remember but if you can find it I recommend reading it) by a former doctor I am convinced that anyone who has a say in spending and treatment of the NHS should have to spend a week shadowing a junior doctor or nurse or HCA in a local hospital. Preferably in A&E. Might give them some perspective. It seems currently the NHS is rolled out for elections promised the world. Then stuffed to the back again because its way to huge and complex for anyone to deal with. I think we need to look after it and protect it and the people who work within it. Privatisations  shouldn't be an option. I don't know if the Tories will, but there is no smoke without fire.

Equally I am unsure about living in a country run by Jeremy Corbyn. I am a remainer through and through and while I would be delighted to get another referendum and Brexit to be thrown out once and for all. But I am not sure how fair it is. I do believe we were mislead during the first. However will it be wasting money on something that was already decided? In addition to this can labour deliver us a Brexit if it is given the go ahead. It seems like Boris is far more into the idea than Corbyn and he can't do it. (although he claims he can all evidence so far...).
I should be buzzing for the idea of a labour government. Corbyn seems to be way closer to hitting the mark on things that matter to me: NHS, Tuition fees, not overly taxing us on the lower pay scale. But it makes me uneasy. He's said some dodgy things regarding race and religion. (To be fair so has Boris actually) We shouldn't overlook that. I am sure its been bent to fit his competitors when needed and maybe it is taken out of context. But as someone who wants to represent our multicultural society he should never say anything that can allow that to happen. Which makes me doubt if he will stick up for every single person he represents as PM.
Racism is way more built into our society than I ever realised. There is a book I read recently, in research for something I was writing for uni, about race. (again can't remember the title something like 'why I am not talking to white people about race') and it really opened my eyes to how much as a white woman I have never noticed. I don't want to get to far into such a sensitive subject but I am now much more aware of somethings in life. We need to know our leader has as close to zero prejudice or preference as possible. I don't know if we can say that with Corbyn.
In addition to this Labour weren't exactly a roaring success last time. I mean I was much younger so I can't tell you that about everything but the tiny matter of the fact they lied so they could go drop bombs where it suited doesn't sit well with me. Granted Blair isn't going to be in charge now but I don't think for one second he made that decision by himself. I can't see the entire Labour Party being like "no Tony don't do it' and him shrugging his shoulders and being like 'Im the Prime Minister I'm in charge!!’ How can we trust the party now? I am a bit of a hippy type girl so maybe it bothers me more than others but people died and it might have been preventable.

I think its easy to see the main two parties aren't exactly lighting my fire. I do (as I did a few years ago) feel vulnerable. I need the NHS to remain free because I cannot afford to stay alive without it. I get medical benefits and as much as I dislike having to take them I have too. Until my asthma is controlled and my immune system isn't repressed by steroids (so I don't continuously get infections) I have no choice. I wish I did. (slightly off topic but actually found myself feeling nostalgic for the time I worked at Mcdonalds the other day. Thats how much I wish I did). But I don't think I am alone in this.
What do we do? Vote for the other biggish party? is there point?
Do I just vote Green because the environment should be a bigger priority for us?
I have no idea.
Is it ok to have no idea what to do? man I hope so.
I  think the best approach is to decide what your number one priority is: education, NHS, Brexit, Free WIFI (which seems like an odd promise, like they are trying to tip into the young first time voters, 'vote for us, we are cool' but hey), ETC. then the next two or three that matter then find a party that mostly seems to agree with you.

I haven't cleared much up. Its mainly a way to go through my ideas to myself. But if by chance anyone is reading this. PLEASE PLEASE DO VOTE. Get down there and make your voice count. Yes they might disappoint you. But if take away pizza disappoints you do you never eat pizza again? or do you learn from experience and look into a better option next time?? As much as pizza is life, unfortunately so is politics. It controls so much of all our lives. Which is why it's so important.
